Son Heung-min sends early warning to Lionel Messi & Inter Miami before 2026 MLS season

 The 2025 MLS Season officially ended with Inter Miami winning the MLS Cup for the first time in their history. Inter Miami took down the Vancouver Whitecaps, NYCFC, FC Cincinnati, and Nashville SC.

One of the matchups many MLS fans wanted to see play out in the MLS Cup final was Inter Miami against LAFC.

LAFC were among the favorites to win the MLS Cup until they played against the Vancouver Whitecaps and lost to them in the Western Conference semifinal.

The matchup attracts fans as they get to see two of the biggest stars in the league, Lionel Messi and Son Heung-Min.

Despite not playing against each other this year in the MLS, the 2026 MLS season will start with the MLS Cup champions, Inter Miami, taking on Son Heung-Min's LAFC on February 21 at the BMO Stadium.

With the new season starting in two months, Son Heung-Min has already begun to heat up the matchup between Inter Miami and LAFC with his latest words towards Messi and the Herons.

Son Heung Min's message for Messi and Inter Miami

Son Heung-Min returned to London, England, to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch Spurs beat Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League last night.

Son was welcomed by the fans and his former teammates, including Argentine defender Cristian Romero.

The two former teammates joked around, and Son told Messi's Argentina national team teammates that he aims to win the MLS Cup with LAFC next year.

Son said, "I let Messi win this year, then next year... we on top."
