TV fans switch off in rage as BBC broadcasts 'worst 30 minutes ever aired'
BBC fans are very disappointed with the channel's latest show.
The broadcaster's audiences were left absolutely fuming after sitting through what they've branded the "worst 30 minutes in television history". Celebrity Mastermind made its return this week as JLS star JB Gill, comic Susie McCabe, presenter Richie Anderson and explorer Lucy Shepherd took to the hot seat.
However, a string of controversial decisions had viewers scrambling for their remote controls. Susie's choice to pick Margaret Thatcher as her specialist topic rubbed many the wrong way, while JB decided to concentrate on the Bad Boys movie series.
Irate fans flocked to X/Twitter to air their grievances as one frustrated viewer moaned: "A round on Thatcher (spits) and Richie Anderson as a 'celebrity'... This could be the worst 30 mins in TV history!" reports the Mirror.
Another person raged: "Cannot bear to watch any more of #CelebMastermind... a round on Margaret Thatcher? Seriously?" as one BBC viewer joked: "The question researchers must be like: 'Wtf did I do to deserve this?'"
Richie managed to enrage audiences even further when he was asked the question: "What is Mel B's Spice Girls nickname?" to which he responded Abrupt Spice, rather than Scary Spice. One amazed viewer tweeted: "Abrupt Spice? Good grief!"
Someone else laughed as they wrote: "Abrupt Spice! Now that has made my day!"
Another, in sheer disbelief, typed: "This is a prank, right? Somebody's taking the p***!" One disgruntled viewer moaned: "The worst part of this 'celebrity' Mastermind is that Richie Anderson is the only one I recognise."
Others dubbed it as "painful viewing" and another fan slammed the entire episode as "cringeworthy".
